#3 Movie Post ¨To Kill a Mockingbird."

Watching To Kill a Mockingbird for the first time I was actually interested. When the movie first started I was confused because of the children and the title everything seemed strange. I was captivated by the little girl and boy and how open minded they were even with their dad. Atticus was also opened minded when he defended the African American man from the court and being charged with rape. My favorite part of the movie was when Boo saved the kids and they showed that he really wasn't a bad guy. This movie showed me that not everyone is bad and also rumors are not to be listened to. The fact that the innocent black man was charged with rape when he didn't committee the crime really bothered me because there was literally no evidence to prove that he was guilty and the fact that the judges didn't even look into that really pissed me off. His lawyer tried everything and I think that is what upsets me. This kind of reminds me of the problems we still have in our society. We aren't equal and I think Atticus tried his best changing that. You can tell the white man that spit on his was feeling offended that he wasn't defending his wife (a white women) rather a black man. This movie showed that people will always be judged based off society and what it has to offer but also that someone, somewhere would be willing to help and listen and try to protect.

#2 Movie Post "Precious"

The movie Precious was very gruesome, I've watched this movie once before and it made me upset watching it because of how the mother treated Precious but watching it for a second time made me angry. I hate the way the mother spoke to Precious. It made me feel sick to my stomach. I think the way Precious imagined her future and thought of it gave her the chance to step up for herself. Also people question why Precious might have stayed with her mom although she had treated her poorly but I think it's because her mother was all she knew and that she couldn't just leave, especially because she was pregnant. I also made it seem like Precious' mother was jealous of Precious because the father had raped her and had got her pregnant twice. When seeing that Precious couldn't rely on her mom but had to leave was upset. I think the teacher helped Precious see everything in a different life. That Precious finally wanted to take control of her life and not be controlled and treated like trash by her mother. This movie seems to show how someone in the hood lives and how hard she's been trying to get her life together. It also shows the lack of eduaction.

#1 Movie Blogpost: REBEL

Rebel the movie by Anthony was interesting and touched base on a lot of issues teenagers endure through their young years of high school. I think the opening scene was important because as the clip was rolling it was showing the main character smoking and being aggressive which gets a huge point across, Anthony did a good job at introducing the characters. Getting the main characters parents involved was an important move regarding how the child acts. Also having the principal play a role in teaching the students is great because we see the support the children are getting from both family and school. Although they don't show enough support through the child's eyes it's still very important to witness them in the child's life. I liked the way the camera was shot in many of the shots because the effects are amazing. I think they catch the viewers attention and it doesn't get boring while watching, the editing was great and the story line kept me interested. I think the character's picked made the perfect story because it wasn't steroteypical. It actually referred to real life problems the teen was facing. The issue with girls, friends and bullies all makes perfect sense. IT HAPPENS A LOT. And I think Anthony was trying to address issues that occur by making his main character a guy that is reckless and doesn't care for his family. We see that although things occur that make the main character reckless we also see his heart because of the way he acts after a guy was killed. I think this goes to show everyone goes through a tough phase and eventually they learn from it.
